Our Client, Hughes Mushrooms, is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join their expanding team, based in Dungannon.
Hughes Group is a dynamic innovator in the mushroom sector of the agri-food industry, working with a network of growers to deliver top grade mushrooms, vegan and vegetarian product lines and superlative service to our customers and business partners across the UK and Ireland
Pay Rate: £14.42 Per Hour
Hours Per Week:
Monday – Sunday 8am-5pm 5 days out of 7. Weekend flexibility is required.
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Job Type: Full time, permanent
Job Criteria:
•Previous experience in a maintenance/handyman role (ideally within food or other
•hygiene-sensitive manufacturing).
•Good knowledge of basic plumbing, joinery, painting, and small-scale electrical work.
•Familiarity with maintenance of production equipment (desirable).
•Understanding of health & safety and food hygiene requirements.
•Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently or as part of a team.
•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Job Duties:
•Carry out routine inspections, minor repairs, and general maintenance on machinery, utilities, and the building fabric.
•Respond quickly to breakdowns or maintenance requests from production and support teams.
•Support planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules to minimise downtime.
•Maintain plumbing, basic electrical fittings, doors, floors, walls, lighting, and site services.
•Assist engineers with more complex repairs or installations when required.
•Ensure all work complies with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards.
•Record all maintenance tasks accurately in the site maintenance log or CMMS.
•Liaise with contractors or suppliers as required and supervise their work on site.
•Keep workshops, tools, and equipment clean and in good working order.
