Our client, an award-winning and leading provider of injection moulded parts and engineered assemblies are seeking a Production Operative to join their team, based in Carrickfergus.

The role of the Production Operative is to support the business with the production of moulded components and assemblies in line with the business needs and processes.

Pay Rate: £13.51 Per Hour

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am - 8pm

Nights may be required, depending on the needs of the business (8pm - 8am)

Job Type: Full Time, Temporary

Job Duties:

- Operate Injection Mould machines, following SOP instructions to complete finished product to the required standard.

- Liase with Production Team Leader for production priorities.

- Ensure that all quality levels are maintained in accordance with QC procedures and company documentation is accurately completed including checking and inspection of first off and last off

parts.

-Highlight tooling and machine problems promptly.

- Identify parts produced with appropriate information and set finished parts in designated areas.

- Selection and preparation of materials for machine loading.

- Undertake secondary operations, assembly work , final inspection and pack activities when required.

- Assist and train colleagues.

- Complete documentation and maintain records in line with quality standards.

- Inspect and measure components, following the company's procedures when any quality defects are detected.

- Provide cover for colleagues.

- Participate with team working, information sharing and Continuous Improvement Programmes.

- Practice good housekeeping by applying 5S principles and practice good safety procedures including wearing PPE when required.

- Perform any other duties as may reasonably be required from time-to-time.

- Perform the job in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.

Job Criteria:

Essential:

- GCSE Maths & English or equivalent.

- Good literacy skills.

- Good hand to eye coordination

- Hand dexterity.

- Capable of working flexible hours as required to meet business needs.

- To be able to operate a single machine for long periods of time whilst maintaining pace and quality.

- Whilst performing this role, the employee may be required to stand, bend, kneel, twist and reach overhead.

- Ability to multitask.

- Ability to follow a process from a written instruction.

- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.

- Ability to work to deadlines and targets whilst maintaining quality.

- Able to demonstrate analytical, problem solving, innovative and decision-making skills.

- Accuracy and attention to detail.

Desirable:

- 5 GCSEs or equivalent

- Full clean UK driving licence

- Forklift licence

- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment - minimum 1 year.

- Experience and ability to read and understand technical drawings and process instructions.

- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing and 5S Process.

- Understanding of injection moulding process and tooling.

- Ability to demonstrate and lead by example best practice and have a continuous improvement mindset.

- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
