Our client, UK and Ireland's leading provider of industrial, medical and special gases, are seeking a Cylinder Operative to join their team , based in Belfast
Pay Rate: £40,399 Per Anum plus monthly shift allowance £283.33
Hours Per Week: 42 Hours
Working Hours: Rotating Shifts
Week 1: 6am - 20m
Week 2: 2pm - 10pm

Job Criteria

Job Duties:
- Filling cylinders in accordance with specific guidelines whether by pressure or weight, as appropriate.
- Weigh cylinders filled with liquid products on platform scales and record weight.
- Understand and inspect fill manifolds for proper operation prior to filling or connecting cylinders.
- Perform all required pre-fill and post-fill inspections and tests before cylinders are released. Ensure cylinders are adequately maintained.
- Cylinders requiring maintenance or repair are removed from service until corrected.
- Ensure cylinder filling records are accurately maintained and that all required procedures are followed in accordance with regulations.
- Count all incoming cylinders, load/unload trucks daily via forklift.
- Pull cylinders and verify lot numbers as required.
- Receive all goods according to standard written procedures.
- Examine returned cylinders for surface defects such as dents, cracks, or burns and transports cylinders to designated work area.
- Inspect cylinder labels to assure they are legible, compliant with current requirements and correct for the service intended; replace if damaged or inappropriate.
- Ability to recognize and detect defective cylinders and properly separate them from production in identified quarantine areas. Remove any and all old labels and clean cylinders using approved tools.
- Follow Linde/BOC procedures for safe handling, storing, securing and proper nesting of cylinders.
- Safely operate a forklift to load and unload trucks and gather stock from the designated areas.
- Clearly understands and follows ALL Linde/ BOC Safety Policies including but not limited to proper PPE, proper lifting techniques, and local site safety requirements.
- Reviews and ensures all equipment is in the appropriate working order and within established guidelines.
- Understands the need to bring up issues with local management if system is not functioning properly or if there are questions surrounding the operation.
- Maintain a neat, clean and orderly plant appearance. Perform other duties as assigned
