Join the EVRi Team as a Category C+E Driver - Mallusk, Newtownabbey
Our client, EVRi, one of the UK’s largest and most trusted parcel delivery companies, is currently seeking Category C+E Drivers to join their brand-new depot in Newtownabbey, this September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced HGV drivers to become part of a high-performing logistics operation with a focus on efficiency, safety, and excellent service.
The purpose of the Cat C Driver is to deliver parcels on a multi-drop basis to Delivery Units, Clients and other Evri sites within a defined geographical area. You will provide excellent customer service whilst operating within a safe working environment and ensuring legal compliance.
Pay Rate: £14.19 Per Hour + Holiday Pay
Working Hours: Starting time: Between 2am-5am to Finish (Typically 8 hour shifts but this can vary)
Job Type: Full Time, Ongoing
Job Duties:
· Ensuring the safe and efficient driving of vehicles, whilst maintaining all paperwork and ensuring it is completed correctly.
· Accurately using the handheld terminal (HHT) for all parcels you deliver and collect to maintain scanning compliance.
· Using the correct manual handling and safe loading and unloading practices when delivering pallets, collars and other assets of parcels.
· Thoroughly checking the vehicle for any defects that would make the vehicle unsafe on the roads. Also, that your vehicle is well presented, and all procedures and legal regulations are adhered to.
· Maintaining regular contact with the Depot Management Team throughout your shift and respond to changing priorities, answering queries promptly, accurately, and safely.
· Completing assigned deliveries within time allocated on the designated route. Initiative, knowledge and skill should be used to anticipate and resolve any day-to-day issues.
· Personal and vehicle hygiene.
· Adhering to all company policies and procedures in your area and for behaving in line with the Evri values.
Job Criteria:
• Full UK Driving License with HGV Class 1 (Cat C+E) entitlements with no more than 6 points or endorsements.
• Driver's CPC and digital tachograph.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English - written and verbally.
• Desired knowledge when working with compliance targets.
• Experience in working in a physically demanding environment and experienced in manual handling heavy items.
• Must be able to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team.
• Professional attitude and clear communicator.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Comply with company and Health and Safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
