Our Client Ecopart, a leading in car recycling, dismantlers, dealers and scrap car dealers are seeking a Transport Planner to join their team, based in Crumlin.

You’ll be responsible for planning and executing vehicle collections and deliveries across Northern Ireland and the UK. Your focus will be efficient route scheduling, driver coordination and maintaining high standards of customer service & compliance. This role blends planning admin and practical vehicle knowledge so we’re looking for someone who’s equally comfortable on the phone, in the office and speaking to drivers and clients on site.

Pay Rate: £29k - £31K (Depending On Experience)

Hours Per Week: 40 Hours

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm

Job Criteria:

Essential:

- Currently working in the transport industry in planning operations or transport administration

- Mechanical background or hands-on experience with vehicles, able to understand technical issues and advise drivers

- Comfortable negotiating with suppliers and third parties to secure slots and resolve disputes

- Good command of Excel for basic route sheets & reporting and comfortable learning new TMS software

- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and time-critical schedules

- Strong communicator organised and able to work with autonomy

Desirable

- Experience with TMS or route optimisation software

- Previous work with security-sensitive clients

Job Duties:

- Create daily and weekly transport plans optimising routes vehicle utilisation and costs

- Schedule and dispatch for 3 lorries and cover cars ensuring timely collections and deliveries

- Book and manage third-party vehicle collections for contracted clients including priority client work & adhering to procedural requirements

- Operate the weighbridge accurately and maintain paperwork and records

- Manage communications: phone email and Facebook messages with customers suppliers and drivers

- Handle cash payments and reconcile transactions

- Escalate and resolve transport exceptions quickly & efficiently

- Maintain accurate records in our transport system and Excel where required
