Our client Glasseal (NI) Ltd is a UK-based architectural glass processor and manufacturer, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer based in Ballynahinch, Northern Ireland.
They produce and supply high-specification glass products including single, double and triple glazing, for residential and commercial use, serving joinery, curtain walling, window installers and other sectors across the UK and Ireland.
Salary: Starting at 35K (Depending On Experience)
Hours Per Week: 40

Working Hours: Monday 8:30 am–4:30 pm
Tuesday 8:30 am–4:30 pm
Wednesday 8:30 am–4:30 pm
Thursday 8:30 am–4:30 pm
Friday 8:30 am–2 pm
Job Criteria:
Essential
- Strong mechanical maintenance background in a manufacturing environment
- Solid experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Proven experience fault-finding and repairing industrial production machinery
- Good electrical fault-finding ability
- Experience working with PPM systems
- Able to work independently and make decisions during breakdown situations
- Strong safety awareness
- Good communication skills and team-focused approach
Desirable
- Previous experience with overhead cranes or lifting systems
- PLC knowledge (Siemens or Allen-Bradley)
- IOSH, NEBOSH or similar safety qualification
- Previous experience in glass, FMCG, packaging, plastics, CNC or metal manufacturing
- Previous experience with automated handling or heat-based production equipment

This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving and being a key part of keeping production running.
Job Duties:
Planned & Preventative Maintenance
- Carry out scheduled PPM on production, forming, handling and cutting machinery
- Inspect, service and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Help improve maintenance routines to increase equipment reliability and uptime Reactive Maintenance
- Respond quickly to breakdowns to reduce production downtime
- Diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Work closely with production teams to ensure safe and efficient machine restarts Continuous Improvement & Root Cause
- Investigate recurring faults and breakdowns
- Implement long-term corrective actions
- Support machine upgrades and site improvement projects
Mechanical Work
- Repair and maintain bearings, shafts, gearboxes, conveyors and fabricated parts
- Maintain hydraulic systems including pumps, valves, cylinders and pressure lines
- Maintain pneumatic systems including actuators, solenoids and air preparation units
- Support safe lifting operations using overhead cranes and lifting equipment
Electrical Work
- Fault-finding on motors, sensors, switches, inverters and safety circuits
- Provide first-line support on PLC-controlled equipment (diagnostics and I/O checks)
- Follow safe isolation and electrical safety procedures Safety & Compliance
- Work to strict safety standards including lock-out/tag-out procedures
- Complete maintenance logs, job sheets and risk assessments
- Support engineering documentation for audits
