Job Details:

Our client, Barclay Communications, are recruiting for a Temporary HR Officer to cover maternity leave for a period of 9 to 12 months commencing in September 2017. This is a standalone role reporting directly to the Managing Director with a focus on effective delivery of HR support and advice to the management team and employees.

Salary: £24,000+ dependent on experience

Job Type: Temporary / Full Time

Job Criteria:

  • Minimum of three years' experience in an HR Role within a fast paced, dynamic environment (customer-focussed)
  • CIPD Qualified with a third level qualification preferably in a business related subject
  • Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)
  • Sound knowledge of employment legislation in NI
  • Experience in providing HR advice to line management on employee relations issues
  • Experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience/familiarity of using PAMS for FEC monitoring
  • Professional and proactive manner when interacting with all company stakeholders
  • Excellent communications skills; written and verbal
  • Self-starter with the ability to work on your own initiative

Job Duties:

  • Liaising with Managers and assisting with the identification of recruitment and training needs of the business and employees in order to drive the overall success of the business
  • Designing recruitment drives including job descriptions and advertisements as well as actively participating with the recruitment process (short-listing, interviewing)
  • Liaising with external recruitment agencies based on specific department needs throughout the business
  • Conducting induction programmes with new employees, introducing them to the company and explaining T&Cs of employment as well as HR matters
  • Providing sound HR advice and guidance to company Directors, Managers and employees on all matters relating to company policies disciplinary issues and grievances
  • Liaising with employment law solicitors on complex HR issues and preparing documentation for tribunal hearings
  • Advising, guiding and reporting directly to the Managing Director
  • Assisting Managers with the management of absence and poor performance and striving towards reducing absence levels and improving employee and overall business performance
  • Developing and maintaining company policies based on the needs of the company and in line with current legislation
  • Striving to ensure that the company is operating best practice at all times
  • FEC monitoring (annual reports and Article 55 Reviews) using PAMS administration in line with current legislation
  • Processing monthly absence reports for Finance and payroll purposes and uploading company pension contributions to the pension provider's website
  • Any other duties as delegated by the Managing Director or any other person designated in their absence
