We are seeking a Sign Maker for our client, a major player in the Large Format Print and Sign industry, based in Belfast. The successful candidate will be a key member in supporting the production team by utilising and implementing your existing knowledge and experience within the sign industry.
Working hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm
Salary: £21,000 - £26,000 per annum depending on experience
Job Duties:
- Assist in production work.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure deadlines are met.
- Assist in ensuring that the department is running efficiently and to optimum production.
- Check and maintain a high level of housekeeping within the department. • Adhere to all company’s health & safety procedures.
- Provide technical assistance/support where required. It would be advantageous to have a full driving licence to drive to various locations to carry out work using company vehicles.
Job Criteria:
Essential:
- Full clean driving licence.
- Applied experience, knowledge and a sound understanding of the sign industry, sign products, manufacturing & installation techniques and processes.
- Attention to detail to ensure client’s projects are completed accurately first time.
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills to ensure complete understanding of clients briefs & requirements, to assist with any client queries & to confidently communicate print/manufacturing requirements to colleagues.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines & manage own pipeline of work.
- Previous work experience in a fabrication environment.
- To be able to work with rapid change within the workshop
- A sound work history in a fast paced and production driven fabrication, manufacturing company.
- Experience operating CNC router, folder, saw and other necessary fabrication equipment
- Planning stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock
Desirable:
- It would also be beneficial to have experience in all areas of general sign making, such as: cutting, weeding and printing vinyl, various vinyl application techniques on substrates and vehicles, and on-site installation of signage and vinyl products.
- CSR Card desirable but not essential as we will enrol you on a course.
- First Aid at Work training qualification.
- Health & Safety training qualification.
Capabilities & Personal Attributes
This is a physically demanding role as it involves all aspects of installing sign solutions, with the need to use many different materials, chemicals, tools, equipment & machinery. Applicants need to be capable of lifting & moving heavy materials, use related equipment, manage installation working at height, working both indoors & outdoors in all weather conditions & wear the necessary PPE equipment as required. It is therefore essential that the post holder can meet the physical demands of this job.
